Anyone who quotes you an exact guaranteed year-count is guessing — or selling. Lifespan is not a property of the bucket; it is the sum of how the floor was prepped, what was layered on, and how it lives. Get all three right and a floor easily outlasts the vehicles parked on it.
Nothing else matters if the coating is not mechanically bonded into the slab. A diamond-shot-blasted floor grips for the long haul; an acid-etched or hand-scrubbed floor is already on a countdown to peeling — no matter how good the product on top is.
A single thin roll-on coat wears through fast. A full three-layer system — moisture-vapor-barrier epoxy base, full flake broadcast, UV-stable polyaspartic clear — puts real mil thickness and a sacrificial armor coat between your tires and the concrete.

Sun through an open door ambers and dusts a non-UV-stable clear within a season or two. The polyaspartic we finish with is UV-stable, so it holds its color and gloss instead of going cloudy.
Acid-etching leaves the slab too smooth and contaminated for a real bond. The coating sheets off in slabs a year or two later — the classic sign the floor was never shot-blasted.
With no moisture-vapor barrier, water rising through the slab pushes the coating off from underneath. It blisters, then flakes. The barrier base is exactly what stops this in an Idaho slab.

• Make it last even longer
A properly installed floor asks very little of you. These simple habits keep the clear coat intact and the flake looking new for the long haul.
In winter, hose or mop away the salt and mag-chloride slush that drips off your vehicle so it is not sitting on the surface for weeks.
Grit is the enemy of any clear coat. A quick dust-mop plus an occasional damp-mop with a mild pH-neutral cleaner keeps micro-scratching down.
Use a mat or plywood under jack stands, motorcycle kickstands and heavy shelving feet so a small area is not carrying a sharp point load.
No acids, and wipe up gas, brake fluid and battery acid promptly. The coating is chemical-resistant, not indestructible — quick cleanup preserves the finish.

Surface prep. Prep is roughly 70% of whether a floor survives. We diamond shot-blast the concrete so the epoxy bonds mechanically into the slab. Coatings that fail early almost always failed at prep — acid-etching or a quick scrub is not enough to make a coating last.
Two reasons: bad prep and no moisture barrier. Without shot-blasting there is no real bond, so the coating delaminates. Without a moisture-vapor-barrier base, water rising through the slab pushes the coating off from underneath and it blisters and peels. Our system addresses both, which is why our floors are backed by a lifetime wear warranty.
It can — for the wrong coating. High-desert sun yellows and chalks a clear that is not UV-stable, and freeze–thaw plus road salt attacks bare concrete and bargain coatings. We finish with a UV-stable polyaspartic and start with a moisture-barrier epoxy specifically so a Magic Valley floor holds up to that climate for the long haul.
